Your shift differential is less with 4/10s
ask your site hr
The shift differential is smaller because youre working more hours. The larger differential is to offset the 4 fewer hours you would normally work. Youre actually making more now
16.80 x 36 = 604.80
16.10 x 40 = 644
Well I’d hope he’s making more, he’s working more hours lol . But is the extra 4 hours worth the only extra 40 bucks he’s getting for those hours?
604.80 x 52 = 31,657.6
644 x 52 = 33,488
I mean in the end you get $1,500 more a year.
Sure... but if he doesn’t mind the 12 hour shifts he’d be making more money for less hours by picking up an extra shift every other week. Or by doing doordash or something a couple times a week.
The 3 12's shift differential is larger than the 4 10's to compensate for not working 40 hours a week.
So you lost the differential you were earning when working 3 12s. What’s the question?
Im wondering why my differential went down. I’m still working overnight which undesirable and I thought the differential was for working an undesirable shift. I’m still working a undesirable shift.
The differential was likely for working 3 12s overnight. Now you’re just getting the regular NS differential. Either way different buildings have different differentials, so HR or ERC would be better equipped to handle a building specific question like this.
Lol if it’s not a weekend overnight shift it’s not the same differential.
The 3 day shift was including 1 weekend day just the same as this new shift i got tho?
That I don’t know. I work Thursday Friday Saturday nights 12 hours and get a 2.90 differential. I know people who work front half nights get a 1.15 differential at my site.
