Cop Flips Pregnant Woman's Car For Not Stopping Fast Enough
By - thes1ngingdetective
You can stop trying to mass report the video to take it down.
We're making sure it stays up.
All rules still apply, do not advocate for violence, and do not be abusive towards each other. Thank you.
Edit: [This comment has now received enough reports to send us an AutoMod message.](https://youtu.be/D7q0cZqHTjg)
The Arkansas State police defended this guy in their statement.
They also have a picture posted of a police car which was hit on the side of the road from yesterday, proving it can be dangerous on the side of the road.
Good evidence for this woman’s case.
[Here](https://www.kark.com/news/working4you/working-4-you-woman-suing-state-police-after-trooper-used-pit-maneuver-on-her-vehicle/) is more info on the woman in the video. She is suing them. It also shows stats on how often the police are doing this.
The department sent the following statement from Col. Bryant:
Over the past five years Arkansas State Troopers have documented a 52 percent increase in incidents of drivers making a conscious choice to ignore traffic stops initiated by the troopers. Instead of stopping, the drivers try to flee. In more populated areas of the state, the incidents of fleeing from troopers have risen by more than 80 percent. The fleeing drivers pull away at a high rate of speed, wildly driving, dangerously passing other vehicles, showing no regard for the safety of other motorists, creating an imminent threat to the public.
This lady was NOT wildly driving at a high speed with no regard for the safety of other drivers!!!
What a bunch of 🤡🤡🤡
She's driving a low end explorer she wasn't capable of fleeing anyone. Funny how we're constantly told that if we feel unsafe with someone with lights on us to pull into a public area/police station.
The dumbest thing about this is it’s not like she was driving so fast getting a shot of the license plate is impossible. I would think chasing the vehicle until you can identify the license plate then if the vehicle refuses to slow down, start giving them distance and potentially let them go. Then take the license plate number and figure out where they live for from there
That's just too much irony, it's like a fake thing someone made up.
We're living in The Onion.
Listen to him back peddle and explain his fuck up. He knows.
Yeah I love how he started on the “why didn’t you stop?” WHILE she was still trapped in her upside down car.
Right? Does he even try to get her out of the fucking car at all while this whole conversation takes place? If I was this lady's husband, I would murder that mother fucker.
Right? I cannot imagine being the soon-to-be father in this situation.
I am in no way a proponent for violence in any form, 99% of the time. But even as a sideline viewer, I feel so much visceral hatred towards this man and the system that upholds this behavior.
And holy shit. I cannot imagine how this father feels.
And I can’t imagine a better compensation than for the 2 parents to sit strapped with helmets in the front seats of a cop car and pit maneuver this bastard at 85 miles an hour without his seatbelt on and see what happens.
And how about this pregnant woman, who has just been in a rollover crash, calmly explaining her correct and legal actions after being pulled out of her destroyed car and being disregarded over and over again by this sociopath. I definitely wouldn’t have been so calm in that situation.
I'd nullify the fuck out of your jury.
Why'd you make me hit you??
Typically abuser mentality…”Well you made me do it”
Unreal. You’re a criminal from the get go. He sees nothing wrong with what he did.
>he sees nothing wrong with what he did
And he thinks she deserved it (or is at least trying to convince himself and everyone else as much).
“Well, you should’ve pulled over.”
Absolute scum of the earth.
She's pregnant, in a massive car wreck he caused for no reason, and he demanded she got out of the car. You do NOT move an injured person like that.
What an asshole.
The cops parents should have pulled out lol.
Yup, no such thing as innocent until proven guilty to these asshats.
Cops see everyone as a 'potential criminal' and they act as such. Everyone who shows up as a blip on their radar is deemed guilty until proven innocent. That's why we hear this nonsense from cops like "well I didn't know what was going on in your vehicle"... "and so we rammed your car into the concrete barrier on the side of the highway, just to make sure."
I don't even know how that woman managed to keep her cool after. I'd probably be afraid for my life and tell that guy to get the fuck away from me, and he'd no doubt see that as a threatening action, put me in cuffs, and take me to jail.
Fucking insane person crashes into my car, nearly killing me, and I'm in jail for it and have to buy a new car when I get out.
This is some bullshit.
*see that as a threatening action and start shooting, ftfy.
Worst part is he makes it sound like he does this all the time.
he targeted her and carried on with framing and attacking her.
"You weren't being safe, so I flipped your car. For safety."
"I didn't know what was going on in your vehicle, so I hit it like a piñata"
“It’s called the piñata maneuver. It’s what we do. Right here, right now.”
"That's what we're here for. I've been doing this 27 years"
There could have been kids in there for all he knew. Like seriously what in the actual fuck. Not only did he flip a pregnant woman doing what she was legally supposed to do he wrecked her ride also.
"you were a minor inconvenience for me so I will become a danger to you and many people around you"
More like "due to my poor character and the toxic bullshit that has been drilled into me by my peers and superiors, I perceived your attempt to stop in a safe place while indicating your compliance in the officially sanctioned manner as an affront to my authority and rightful station as your better. So using the pretext of an imagined threat to my safety, I viciously rammed your vehicle, causing it to overturn. I look forward to my upcoming unscheduled but paid vacation."
If I was the husband I'd be fucking livid
Imagine if that maneuver caused a miscarriage.
Imagine if it started a fire and she burned alive inside.
Happens a lot more in wrecks than people realize. The car is smoking already. Words cannot express how much I hate this cop.
Imagine if there was a child strapped in to a car seat in the back and couldn’t get out in time due to a fire.
In Arkansas, you could just pitch it as the cop conducting or attempting to conduct an abortion as probably the only way to actually him punished.
If this happened to my wife I'd definitely end up in jail.
Abso fuken lutely - he would be going down.
"Oh and I killed your baby because kids are shitty little shit, no need to thank me."
Pro-Life and All/Blue Lives Matter have heavy presence in this area and won't hear a peep.
I think the PIT maneuver when used properly is an important tool to stop car chases. To use it when pulling over someone doing everything right when after the crash you are seen with no concern is a felonious act. I rarely say this, but I hope she sues and wins.
If you can PIT, you can follow them until they stop or run out of gas, there's no hurry. She wasn't trying to get away.
Police cause so many injuries just because of simple impatience.
He was just itching to try that…. Hope the lady sues the department.
If this is the standard procedure, it’s totally irresponsible. This trooper said he couldn’t see what was going on in the car. Combined with the fact that she hadn’t hurt anyone, and was indicating she was going to stop, isn’t that the exact reason NOT to do this? What if she had babies/ kids in there? It’s so imperative to stop her for speeding that you should risk killing the passengers? Idiotic.
The crux of the problem is shit like this is either condoned or promoted by the leadership (Chief, captain, lieutenant, sergeants, etc.) in a department.
Bad apples in the ranks are nowhere near as bad as the bad apples in charge. They may not be the ones pulling the trigger on a pistol or ramming people off the road, but they condone or promote that mentality in their officers.
These are the duplicitous folks who say one thing in carefully crafted media statements but protect and reward officers for nothing short of committing crimes.
The folks that allow their officers to collect credible complaints like trading cards, pull cowboy tactics which endanger everyone, and discipline or “retrain” those who prefer deescalation or to not utilize the military-style training they received in situations they believe it is unwarranted.
I don’t think it’s really possible to have a 100% perfectly fair and balanced law enforcement agency, but if you really wanted to make a positive change in law enforcement, it will come from the top down.
The PD my wife worked for, the Chief had a sociology degree as well, and within 2 years of being in charge (with community outreach taking precedence over arrests) crime was down, droves of officers left for other PDs where their alpha male cowboy shit might be tolerated, and he replaced those officers with others who believed in both upholding the law and making the city a more pleasant place to live.
Pursuits are forbidden for any nonviolent crimes, body cams and dash cams are auto activated when running code, he sold the SWAT APC for a community outreach bus, you have to live in the community, etc. It ain’t perfect... but the cops that stayed are proud to work for a department that is equally focused on making things better for its citizens as well as locking up the bad guys.
To say they recieve military style training is a joke. I was in the Infantry for almost 10 years, believe me, a lot of us showed a lot more restraint and professionalism than most cops I see.
Glad to hear there are at least some places like your wife’s PD out there. Hopefully more start to pop up out there with a similar philosophy.
With the lackluster channel doing this video actually this morning, she is suing
Edit: Yes sorry. I was one my phone. The LackLuster Channel had just audited the video
Thank you for that. I was hoping she would and I too, instantly thought he was itching to give that good ol bump n cut a try. I hope this shit gets blasted on the media.
Yep, this criminal needs to face the same consequences as those losers that beat up that old lady with dementia. Be nice to see this loser in a courtroom in an orange jumpsuit.
And he should be personally liable too. Fuck these pricks hiding behind tax funded shields escaping all liability.
Im trying to read this...but i am struggling
The name of the YouTube channel that posted this video is LackLuster. They posted this video this morning.
I found an article dated a few days ago saying she was suing so I’m not really sure the connection between her suing and this video being posted today.
I think that’s translated
Thank you bby
Unfortunately then the department will harass her until she makes the smart choice and moves somewhere more civilised.
Shes sues them for enough she can move the F out of Arkansas
From their Facebook page:
"Over the weekend, one of our troopers was hit while parked on the shoulder of a Little Rock Interstate, working a crash. Thankfully our trooper is okay besides minor injuries and soreness. Please remember to pay attention to your surroundings, slow down in wet conditions, and MOVE OVER for flashing lights!"
Little bit of irony there, they posted this and then less than 24h later they go viral for trying to kill someone who was going out of their way to make the stop safer.
I tried doing the same thing but instead I get an irate officer yelling in my face asking "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TRYING TO HIDE WHEN I TURN MY LIGHTS ON YOU IMMEDIATELY STOP"
I told him why I went to the next safest stop. I didn't want us to get rear ended. He responds with "THAT'S WHY MY PATROL CAR IS BACK THERE THAT'S NOT AN EXCUSE."
ok buddy 👌 a sleepy semi truck driver isn't gonna give a shit if there's 10 squad cars there. He's going to move them.
I got the same bullshit attitude when I pulled off the main road into a parking lot literally 30ft away. Fucking power tripping douchebags. I'd be so happy to fight that fucking charge in court
Why do we trust the stupidest people to "protect us". Ik there's good cops out there but a cop should not be dumb enough to do this in the first place.
I dont trust any of them.
I was in a similar situation. There was no emergency lane so I exited the freeway and went into the first gas station parking lot. The cop immediately pulled his gun out and demanded that I stick both my hands out the window even when I already had both hands on the wheel at 10 and 2. I thought I was dead.
Long story short, he told me to change my tail light bulb. Not sure why he wanted to shoot me though. Dick.
This happened in Australia. Cops pull over a dude on the freeway. Semi comes and kills all four cops. Terrible.
\*These cops were trying to pull over a dude that was speeding at ridiculous speeds and weaving in and out of traffic. NOT the same kind of police that do this kind of thing as above.
didnt the guy that got pulled over record the dead bodies of the officers and then drive off without calling emergency services
Jesus christ... I fucking hate this.
Jesus Christ. I am honestly speechless. Rarely does a video piss me off *this* much.
I am just blown away with the cartoon-worthy idiocracy and blatant disregard for life in this video, even without any additional information...but then to see that the department was publicly *so* concerned about their own officer’s life in the same fucking 24 hrs...I feel that this is more than r/noahgettheboat worthy.
I know that we as human beings all have our flaws, and we continually fuck up throughout our lives. I understand that this police officer was once just a baby that didn’t ask to be born—and then he grew up, and then he (most likely completely oblivious and free of malicious intent) entered this fucked up police system in the US..
But holy fuck. The pretentiousness, disregard, and sense of entitlement that this individual displays *AFTER* the crash just makes me want to scream.
I rarely find myself feeling pure hatred towards a person—but I hate this man.
He spends at least 90% of the time trying to explain to her why he was so reasonable and justified in trying to kill her. It's just theater, really hes trying to convince himself.
He's *blaming* her: "All you had to do was pull over and stop", aka "you forced me to do this to you", aka "you deserved this".
I hate that I’ve wasted my entire night focused on my hate for this man. But it is so strong. lol
Probably the same thing he says to his wife after smacking her around.
Same mentality as any violent abuser. *"Look at what you made me do. Now you have a broken nose and a black eye and it's all your fault*"
You’re totally right.
I don’t want to project too much, or assume, or try to fit this into some kind of preconceived political agenda...but I can *feel* the disappointment in his voice when he realized he performed a pit maneuver on a middle aged pregnant woman.
He wanted so badly to live out the childhood fantasy of busting the runaway, drug-fueled alien criminal.
Fucking scum person and scum system.
Arkansas? So he's get charged for assaulting one adult and one child right?
Nah, the fetus got a fleeing charge and DWOL.
And now Arkansas must choose between its love of police and its love of unborn babies.
Not only is what she did not wrong, it's what you're **supposed** to do.
When the lights go on, you turn on your hazards to indicate you're complying and you pull over at the next safe place to do so. There was no shoulder on this bridge so she put on her hazards and was heading towards the exit, which was less than a half mile away.
This is from an Arkansas police officer, where this incident took place:
>[If you are not comfortable pulling over in that location or are not sure it is an actual officer, immediately slow down and turn on your hazard lights. Police said that will let the officer know you see them. Next, police said to move to the farthest right lane and continue to drive to a location where you feel safe.](https://www.nwahomepage.com/news/police-explain-how-to-pull-over-when-you-dont-feel-safe/)
Honestly, this cop needs to be charged. This is beyond just being a shitty cop. This is vehicular assault or assault with a deadly weapon.
A pit maneuver which is the cause of this situation is considered deadly force and is only to be used in a felony stop, in most states.
Yeah, this is an insane leap to pitting someone. What a fucking idiot.
He definitely just wanted to do it, probably never had before and was waiting for his chance
He keeps acting like he had no choice, saying "All you had to do was stop". Geez dude, all he had to do was wait thirty seconds for her to exit, like she indicated she would. It's stunning his first instinct was to crash her car and maybe kill her. His judgement is screwed and should never be allowed to patrol again.
She's suing the police and state but:
>Though police reportedly plan to fight the lawsuit, the outcome is unlikely to have a personal impact on Dunn as Arkansas law means he is immune from any personal responsibility for his actions.
>Arkansas law means he is immune from any personal responsibility for his actions
They just come right out and say it huh
> His judgement is screwed and should never be allowed to patrol again.
Narrator: `"He will."`
This is insane to me! Would be headline news in my country. The cops in America are out of control with power.
I spent years having encounters with cops. They excel at escalating shit.
But even to me this is one of the 'ok, what the actual fuck' ones. They do so much shit that people never even see.
Don't you also need to call it in and ask for permission?
I assume that depends on department policy. In this case, regardless of permission, this guy should be charged with everything. Reckless use of a motor vehicle, attempted murder, endangering the life of an unborn child...and anything else you can think of. And he should be fired. There was a similar case in Minnesota about 10-15 years ago where a cop tried to pit someone for changing lanes without signaling. The man had a burned out turn signal and a vehicle full of kids. She was fired on the spot.
There other cops arriving on the scene should have taken him away in cuffs
Edit:THe oTher coPS DIDN'T sEe The VidEo - He told the arriving officers that she put her blinkers on and never described her trying to flee
Wonder where all the good apples are.
Thank you for posting this, that’s exactly what I thought, for all she knows it’s a psycho that stole a cop car, you gotta be allowed to get to a safe well lit area before stopping
The psycho didn’t steal the cop car, they gave it to him.
She did exactly what she was supposed to. This tyrannical jckass can go get his jollies off at a crash derby with the other redneck hillbillies if he wants to fuck things up for no good goddamn reason.
What a ~~jerkoff~~ complete piece of dog shit.
Edit: watched it again. Edited for precision.
Glad she was okay. Ironic, that she should be thoughtfully serving and protecting him by seeking a safe place to stop. She makes a better cop than his sorry ass.
Sounds like case is ongoing… hope this colossal fuck up is a career ender.
It shouldn't need to be posted. Speeding is a civil infraction in most cases, not even criminal. So what justifies violent, potentially deadly force when no crime has been committed. As long as she is following traffic rules follow her home and or wherever she parks. Same root issue, Police escalate situations when 99% of the time deescalation is going to result in a better outcome. He should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon and terminated.
>Turns out that’s textbook what to do according to State Police’s “Driver License Study Guide.”Under
>“What to do When You Are Stopped,” number one says to use, “emergency flashers to indicate to the officer that you are seeking a safe place to stop.”
Classic case of a dumbass cops not knowing their own states laws and regulations.
I really fucking hope she Sued the cop and used this as a “ITS IN THE FUCKING TEXTBOOK” defense
The court finds that it is not clearly established that an officer should know whats in their policy. Qualified Immunity is granted.
hell, there have already been cases where the court said that the cops don't need to know the law. the supreme court has ruled on this im pretty sure
[They also have no duty to protect according to SCOTUS.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_v._District_of_Columbia)
They aren't there to protect you and they don't even have to know the goddamn law they are enforcing. Why do they even exist?
they protect property and rich people.
if you don't have either, you shouldn't expect the time of day from them, much less protection or lawful assistance.
I hope he gets ripped to shreds by the judge, because rather she sues him or not there will still be court about this. If she wins she can absolutely sue the fuck out of the department afterwards.
She needs to try to get him decertified. He's a danger to the public.
Cop moves to next state over and gets a new job with a pay raise.
“I followed the rules and you still tried to kill me.”
Hmm I wonder how much the tax payers are going to owe this woman, and how much they’re going to pay the cop for his free vacation?
Sad that citizens have to act normal and de-escalate while cops are act like macho trigger happy babies.
but watch out if they take your “acting normal” and attempts at deescalation as a form of aggression or condescension because it could still end poorly for you at the drop of a hat.
> could still end poorly for you at the drop of a hat.
This is true of any interaction with the cops, and it shouldn't be.
I like how he told her “I’ve been doing this for 27 years” yet he failed to learn the state’s procedures in the drivers license study guide
They didn’t get to be US cops by being good at studying and retaining information.
Yeah, I mean you can just say fuck it at one point and enroll in police academy. Couple months later you’ll be out in the streets flipping over pregnant ladies cars and making 90k a year doing it.
But he’s been an officer for 27 years.
Let’s not get crazy now. I mean, is it really that reasonable to expect an officer to actually know the laws he is tasked with enforcing?
Do you also expect doctors to know anything about the diseases they are treating or the medication they are prescribing? Of course not.
Pig has never had the chance to try the PIT maneuver and wanted to get one in before retirement.
27 years he said. Pension is earned at 55 years old with at least 20 years service. I would imagine it’s coming up soon.
Hopefully he loses that pension over this.
Is there a Go Fund Me for her lawsuit against that fucking clown and that department?
For the record, this is in this abysmal state's driver's license manual.
“What to do When You Are Stopped,” number one says to use, “emergency
flashers to indicate to the officer that you are seeking a safe place to stop.”
There isn't a single reason why he shouldn't be charged with attempted murder. All she did was follow our manual. She was less than a mile from the next exit.
Reminds me of that girl who slowly pulled over to a well lit gas station when made to stop by the police. She was met with screaming cops and guns drawn.
There had been a fake cop raping women around the time, and the official advice had been to turn on your hazards and slowly pull into a well lit area. She followed that advice to the letter.
*edit*: It's worse than I remember, for this woman. She was arrested and taken to court. She had even called 911 letting them know what she was doing. I don't think this is even the same case. The person I remembered was younger. I bet this happened way more than once. https://www.goupstate.com/article/NC/20140204/News/605129598/SJ
*edit*: Here is another one. Where the woman waved to the police officer, slowed down, put on her hazard lights, and proceeded to a well-lit Kohl's parking lot less than a mile down the road. She was arrested and givn felony charges. https://www.csmonitor.com/USA/USA-Update/2015/0407/Indiana-woman-arrested-after-seeking-parking-lot-to-pull-over-for-police
I remember stories like that. Cops are out of control.
There should be an FBI taskforce set up to tackle these roaming militarised gangs
That happened to me when I was 19! The cop was like 80 years old and from the point where he flipped his lights on to the spot where I pulled over was like two blocks. Pointed his gun and screamed at me. In a suburb on a street next to a rich neighborhood which I lived on the other side of. I think the murder rate in that town was zero for like five years straight at the time. No idea what could’ve made this cop piss himself over a simple traffic stop for going 10 over the speed limit. Teenage girls in sparkly dresses, apparently. Maybe he was bullied by flappers or something when he was a kid.
Insult of the day “maybe he was bullied by flappers or something when he was a kid” well done.
What made him piss himself over? His power thirst, his humongous ego and his low self esteem.
Double homicide given that she is pregnant.
If she loses that baby isn’t that like a slam dunk against the cop, given how hard they fight for every life in those states? I wonder whether other cops draw the line at baby killer and hang him out to dry or whether the solid blue wall forms up.
They only care if the potential life is intentionally ended. If it's the byproduct of lawful abuse and harassment then it's okay.
"Cops think all non-cops as less than they are, stupid, weak, and evil. They dehumanize the people they are sworn to protect and desensitize themselves in order to do that job."
**-James Cameron on why he chose to have the villain of Terminator 2 be a Cop**. To Cameron, the terminators represent "Us losing touch with our own humanity and becoming machines, which allows us to kill and brutalize each other."
T2 is one of my favorite movies of all time and I didn’t know this. Thanks.
Wtf I love James Cameron now
do cops take stupid pills every morning... my gosh, how fucking stupid can you be. Oh, she was such threat.
Buddy, the majority of cops are low grade sociopaths with a superiority complex. Are there good ones out there? Sure. It’s just that all of the dumb ones overshadow the good ones.
There’s no way any rational person thought this would be a good idea given the indicators
> Are there good ones out there? Sure
Disagree. The good ones get fired for trying to do the right thing.
He couldn’t wait for an excuse to do that to someone.
He is an IDIOT. A complete and utter idiot. WHY CALL FOR EMS when he's trying to get her out of the car that is flipped. Like I don't know make sure her neck is not gonna get worse off by ya know waiting for paramedics to do their job unlike him. Jeezus even if she wasn't pregnant, she needed assistance because the officer is clearly to stupid to render help. EDIT: Also the fact that he keeps trying to justify trying to murder her for effing speeding.
Because he knew he was in the wrong and was in denial, hoping she'd jump out of the car and be fine and he could gaslight her out of reporting it.
It's the same thing when some psychopath smacks the shit out of his wife and then insists she's fine.
Well considering this happened in June 2020 and he still has a job, not to mention his actions were defended by his leadership and the politicians of his state, … yeah.
Assault with a deadly weapon right? Rodney Dunn almost killed that woman because he was on a trip.
Would this be an acceptable time to defend yourself from the police, if they attack the car like this?
Please tell me this ass clown lost his job
No, this was in June 2020, here's something he investigated in December 2020, so he's still a cop: https://www.ark.org/asp-fatal/index.php?do=view_reports&accident_number=556&year_rec=2020
Got his name from here: https://www.fox16.com/news/investigates/fox-16-investigates-woman-files-lawsuit-hoping-for-policy-change-surrounding-pit-maneuvers/
The other cops are defending him and so are the Republican State Senators. The woman is suing.
Thanks for sharing this. This is criminal. She easily could’ve been murdered by this asshat. I can’t imagine the trauma she has after this.
He should catch 2 attempted murder charges. One for the soon to be mom, and one for her baby.
> Republican State Senators
Did they immediately release the fetus’ arrest record and say it smelled like marijuana in the mother’s womb to justify this?
it was reaching for something
He felt it kick - assaulted an officer.
Is the baby okay?
Maybe the Republicans will turn on the officer if they find out that he aborted this woman's baby?
That would be the ultimate in cognitive dissonance. “He’s a cop! But he also performed an abortion...”
This is all I want to know
> “In my head I was going to lose the baby,” said Harper, who was pregnant with her daughter at the time of the crash.
Article implies that the pregnancy was not impacted by the crash
Isn't that just a vacation?
What a fucking scumbag. I hope he gets hemorrhoids and explosive diarrhea every single day for a good 5 years. Fuck him.
on another note, who the fuck came up with the spelling of 'diarrhea'? it should be spelled as it sounds - diarreah.
We’ll discuss that tomorrow. I’ll put it on the *schedule*.
If anyone did this to my pregnant wife I would probably spend the rest of my life trying to get revenge. This cop needs to be locked away for a long time, with therapy and rehabilitation for the rest of his sorry life. Fuck him and every bootlicker who defends these tyrants, I’m sick of living in a third world country
You and me both. Frankly, I hope this waste of life gets fucking killed before he hurts more people. Call to action to all cops with a fucking Punisher fetish - how about you shoot your shitty coworkers instead of the public.
> how about you shoot your shitty coworkers instead of the public.
At least Chris Dorner did
I just want to say, I really hope this woman and child are ok. The stress and impact could be detrimental to her pregnancy. I just wanted to put that good karma out there for her and her child.
I also wanna say, I love that her intention for the lawsuit is to fight for the changing on PIT maneuver policies.
Seems like mother and daughter are ok according to this article:
She says she thought she was going to lose her baby, but the article refers to the child as her daughter now, and makes no note of her or the child being permanently physically injured.
“This is what we do out here”
We out here flippin cars
Thank you for your service
Listen to what Republicans have to say about Nicole Harper, the pregnant woman who had her car flipped by a cop after she didn't stop within 2 minutes of his lights because there wasn't a safe spot to pull over.
>“End of the day when somebody is fleeing I will never question the method police officer uses to stop them,” said **Sen. Bart Hester (R-Cave Springs)**. “I don’t care if it’s 60 miles an hour, I don’t care if its 100 miles an hour, I want them stopped as soon as possible.”
Yes, he still is a state senator: https://senate.arkansas.gov/senators/bart-hester/ - he's an avid supporter of "Back the Blue"
Bonus, here's what [**COL. BILL BRYANT**](https://www.dps.arkansas.gov/law-enforcement/arkansas-state-police/directors-office/director/) has to say on the matter:
> Over the past five years, Arkansas State Troopers have documented a 52 percent increase in incidents of drivers making a conscious choice to ignore traffic stops initiated by the troopers.
> The Arkansas State Police began using the Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) over two decades ago. Trooper recruits while attending the department’s academy receive comprehensive initial training in the use of PIT. All incumbent troopers receive recurring annual training in emergency vehicle operations which includes PIT instruction.
> There’s a fundamental state law none of us should ever forget. All drivers are required under Arkansas law to safely pull-off the roadway and stop when a police officer activates the patrol vehicle emergency lights and siren. The language of the law is crystal clear. Upon the immediate approach of an authorized emergency vehicle displaying the signal to stop, the driver must pull-over and stop. *(see Arkansas statutes ACA §27-51-901 & §27-49-107)
> Should a driver make the decision to ignore the law and flee from police, state troopers are trained to consider their options. Based on the totality of circumstances a state trooper could deploy spike strips to deflate the tires of the vehicle being pursued, execute a boxing technique to contain the pursuit slowing the driver to a stop, execute a PIT maneuver or terminate the pursuit.
> Most Arkansas State Police pursuits end without a PIT maneuver being utilized.
> PIT has proven to be an effective tool to stop drivers who are placing others in harm’s way. It has saved lives among those who choose to obey the law against those who choose to run from police.
> In every case a state trooper has used a PIT maneuver, the fleeing driver could have chosen to end the pursuit by doing what all law-abiding citizens do every day when a police officer turns-on the blue lights – they pull over and stop.
TLDR: He blames her for not immediately pulling over and says that criminals have been fleeing more often and if they dont want to be hurt they should just stop fleeing. Yes he still has his job.
#Also -- doesn't even look like the cop who did this got fired or prosecuted. Basically, the other cops defend this guy, Republican Senators say "do anything you can to stop fleeing suspects" and the victim has to sue to get anywhere. This happened June of last year, and he was still working there in December. https://www.ark.org/asp-fatal/index.php?do=view_reports&accident_number=556&year_rec=2020
#Arkansas get your shit together
Immediately slowing, indicating, hazards, one mile from an exit
Anyone'd think she was a "thug"
Telling Arkansas to "get their shit together" is like telling Arkansas to get their shit together
He wasn't even fired? What a nightmare.
Let's go ahead and make police insurance mandatory. Maybe licensing as well.
I hope she gets a substantial payout at least.
What a psycho piece of shit
Puts hazards on along with Blinker to indicate….not 15 seconds later he flips her car over…ya he is a fuckin idiot I hope her baby was ok and she took everything from him including his job
Usually if somebody’s a threat an have no plans of stopping… they don’t put flashers on an fucking slow down
Yeah, fuck the reduced shoulder. She should have let this cop risk getting hit by traffic if she had any idea he'd do some dumb shit like that. No sarcasm here, he almost killed her.
Here's the fucked up thing though. The next cop that pulls her over, if she did do exactly what you describe above, could get really pissed at her for that. We all know that sort of thing comes with deadly consequences. I guess in America, when it comes to the cops, you're dead if you do and dead if you don't.
That's what happens when you have minimal requirements to become an officer
Gotta say I feel pretty lucky as I was only yelled at by a State Trooper for doing the same thing.
But… it was night and she didn’t know if that cop was a cop or looking to do harm— which he was, clearly!
You are supposed to pull off where you think is safe. The middle of a highway at night isn’t it.
What a power trippin’ asswipe.
The fucked up thing is, she was looking for a place to pull over so it would be *safer for the officer,* rather than pulling over at a reduced shoulder. Thereby reducing the risk of the officer being struck by a vehicle. Piece of fucking shit.
I think we can all agree a better outcome for this situation would been for her to pull over right away and the cop to be ran over by a truck. One less evil person in the world and the lady could save her money and her car wouldn't be destroyed. Too bad that didn't happen.
that cop is a fucking psychopath
This is what happens when you don't pull over .004734 seconds after I put my lights on lady, how did I know your not some crazy axe murder.... FFS, I've seen high speed chases go on for fucking HOURS before they make the call to fucking PIT someone...this dude has prolly been waiting his whole fucking career to do that....SMH
Edit for spelling error.
She did everything right and that stupid f****** cop did everything wrong he should be taken out back and being with the water hose filled with rocks!! You could hear it in his voice he's just trying to cover his ass I hope he goes to jail loses his pension gets fired from his job and become someone's b**** in prison
"Why didn't you stop?" 👮♂️
"I didn't feel like it was safe." 🤰
"Well this is where you ended up." 👮♂️
Fucking piece of shit. You find a safe area to pull over not only for your own safety but for the officers as well. Dumb prick deserves to get hit by a car. This poor lady I'm glad she's suing
Its terrifying that cop said "they roll over" so calmly. His voice didnt even change slightly
The authorities who suppose to keep you safe, literally kill you! Really sad. And on the top of that they get a paid week off to deal with the “trauma”. What a joke.
Every time I hear an officer like this one say, “Well...you should of listened”. What I really hear is, “Comply or die!”
Edit: O M G...thank you all for the upvotes. It’s nice to see so many agree that there is an issue with the way police respond to victimless crimes. Like this example. I live in the state where this happened, and the driver's guide mentioned, the one I read for my driver's test, does state to use your emergency lights to signal compliance. I’m saddened to see such atrocious behavior by our state police. Arkansas and the rest of the 49 states need to do better. Thanks again. Peace.
With anything. They can kick your bathroom door in while you're taking a shit and yell at you to drop the pregnant hedgehog and give them an eggs benedict, then shoot you in your face like 15 times after one thirty eighth of a second because you didn't. It's up to the courts to decide who was wrong \*shrug emoji\*
>Other lawmakers on the committee say police shouldn’t be questioned.
“End of the day when somebody is fleeing I will never question the method police officer uses to stop them,” said Sen. Bart Hester (R-Cave Springs). “I don’t care if it’s 60 miles an hour, I don’t care if its 100 miles an hour, I want them stopped as soon as possible.”
I don't care until it happens to my family - every politician
From now on, I will pull over immediately...in the most dangerous spot for the cop.
American cops really seem to be the scum of the earth. Can’t believe they get away with this shit.
God I hope she has a good lawyer
What a pussy cop.
“Do you know why i flipped you over today ma’am?” - idiot cop probably
